You will also find a culture that encourages professional growth, educationaldevelopment,and career success.With this being a CCFSR role, you will cycle between Martin North, MartinSouthand Tradition Hospitals, allowing you to work with diverse populations acrossnumerousunits, departments and locations while learning from many of our best caregivers.
A caregiver in this position worksvarying shiftsdaysfrom 6:00AM – 6:30PMor6:00PM – 6:30AM.Floating between Martin North, Martin South and Tradition Hospitals will berequired, as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assistwith direct and indirect patient care for one to two patients, such as rooming, vital signs,weightand pulse oximetry. If assigned to a closed unit, you willobservethree to four patients.
Assure patient safety by ensuring that catheters,tubesor other medical equipment have not been removed or disconnected.
Accompany and assist patients at all times, including transport, tests,transfersandambulation
Collect patient specimens for laboratory testing.
Identifyand report changes in patient status to an RN or physician.
Follow protocols and initiate CPR and other emergency measures asrequired
Complete all documentation and provide hand-off communication to caregivers responsible for the patient.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diplomaor GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross for healthcare providers upon or within the three months of hire
Completion of ahospital-basedpatient companion training program or equivalent experience OR currently enrolled at an accredited school of Nursing, with completion of a Nursing Fundamentals Course OR have completedhospital-basedNA/PC orientation or equivalent
Knowledge and understanding of basic patient care activities, such as basic hygiene, skincareand vital signs
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Previousexperience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
