The Pediatric Clinic Phone PCT, MA, or LPN will plan and manage care according to each patient’s needs. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Interviewing patients and recording their medical history
  • Obtaining patient vital signs and escorting patients to their rooms
  • Administering injections of medications
  • Verifying that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately
  • Demonstrate oral, written, telephone, and electronic skills to adequately communicate
  • Demonstrate successful interventions to manage conflict, work effectively in a constantly changing environment, and able to tolerate emotional stress
  • Computer skills including electronic health record and computer assisted instruction
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment with quick changes in acuity and/or census, utilize effective time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use assertiveness skills and maintain composure
  • Ability to maintain concentration with multiple interruptions and appropriately prioritize needs

Hours/Shifts

64 hours biweekly, day shifts

Compensation

Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

PCT Hourly

Wage Range: $18.53-$23.73

MA Hourly

Wage Range: $22.65-$28.99

LPN Hourly

Wage Range: $23.79-$31.99

Qualifications

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities, and vary depending on the candidate's level of licensing.

For Patient Care Tech applicants:

  1. Education/Special Skills:
    -
    1. High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
    2. Understanding of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies.
    3. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certification.
    4. Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
    5. Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within six months.
  2. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening.
  3. Reliable attendance and ability to work at the clinic site as scheduled, including travel to other clinic sites.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  5. Performs delegated clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a licensed provider or nurse in accordance with established protocols, competencies, and organizational policies.

For Medical Assistant applicants:

  1. Education/Special Skills:
    -
    1. Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
    2. Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within six months.
  2. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening.
  3. Reliable attendance and ability to work at the clinic site as scheduled, including travel to other clinic sites.
  4. Licensure/Certification
    -
    1. Verified completion of an MA diploma/program with proof of current certification as an MA if certification received from the diploma/program.
    2. Current CPR certification (Healthcare Provider level)
  5. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  6. Performs delegated clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a licensed provider or nurse in accordance with established protocols, competencies, and organizational policies.

For Licensed Practical Nurse applicants:

  1. Education/Special Skills:
    -
    1. Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
    2. Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
    3. Ability to perform within the nursing scope of practice.
    4. Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within six months.
  2. Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening.
  3. Reliable attendance and ability to work at the clinic site as scheduled, including travel to other clinic sites.
  4. Licensure/Certification:
    -
    1. Current Minnesota LPN Licensure
    2. CPR Certificate
  5. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  6. Performs nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, or provider, consistent with the LPN scope of practice defined by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
