As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide direct patient care and support nurses and clinical staff in creating a safe, comfortable, and healing environment for patients and their families. PCTs are essential in helping ensure patients receive the attentive, respectful, and patient-centered care that defines the Deaconess experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with direct patient care, including activities of daily living such as bathing, mobility, and comfort measures
  • Monitor and document vital signs and patient information
  • Support nurses and the care team in delivering high-quality patient-centered care
  • Provide compassionate support to patients and families
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful care environment

Training & Development

On-the-job training is provided, and team members will complete PCT training classes as required by the care center or unit to ensure they are fully prepared to provide excellent patient care.

Required: Certifications / Licenses / Education

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Health Care Provider certification within six months of hire
  • Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
  • Successful completion of PCT classes as required by the care center/unit
