Position Purpose
Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technician is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies.Assistsinestablishingand maintaining a patient care environment that is clean,safeand conducive to patient/family well being including concepts of relationship based care.
Shifts Available:7:00 am – 7:00 pm, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
Status available:Full-time, Part-time, Contingent/PRN
Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays per yearrequiredfor Full-time and Part-time team members.
Required Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Experience
Preferred minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course OR Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.
What you will do:
Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN in an effort to identify/attain treatment goals such as:
Assists patient in completing ADLs
Demonst Prates sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities
Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family well being
Records patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation and charging requirements
Completes delegated unit specific activities
