Job Description

Gallatin Valley Surgery Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team on a PRN basis. The PCT plays a vital role in supporting the surgical team and nursing staff by delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient preparation and recovery in pre-op and post-op areas.
  • Support nursing staff with vital signs, patient transport, and documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient care areas, including room turnover.
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort, including hourly rounding and observation.
  • Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining equipment readiness.
  • Uphold infection control and aseptic technique standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends

Preferred:

  • CNA certification
  • Prior experience in a surgical or ambulatory care setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and professionalism
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
