Patient Care Director – Outpatient Oncology

As a leader in cancer care, NewYork-Presbyterian delivers innovative, multidisciplinary oncology services through a network of ambulatory programs, specialty clinics, infusion centers, and advanced treatment programs.
The Patient Care Director is responsible for the clinical and operational leadership of a diverse portfolio of outpatient oncology services, including Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Adult Oncology Infusion, Apheresis, the Bone Marrow Transplant Day Hospital, Breast Center services, and oncology specialty clinics.
In this dynamic leadership role, you will partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, operational leaders, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient-centered care across multiple ambulatory oncology settings. You will provide strategic and operational oversight of nursing and patient care services, including staffing, workflow optimization, quality and safety initiatives, patient experience, program development, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement.
The Patient Care Director serves as a key leader in advancing nursing excellence and supporting the growth and evolution of outpatient oncology programs. This individual will drive initiatives that promote evidence-based practice, operational efficiency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and high-quality patient outcomes while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional development among clinical staff.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ambulatory oncology operations and demonstrate the ability to lead complex clinical programs, manage change, optimize care delivery, and enhance the patient experience across a comprehensive outpatient oncology service line. Success in this role requires a collaborative leader who can navigate a fast-paced academic medical center environment while balancing the needs of patients, staff, providers, and the organization.
