Compassionate Leaders Make It Possible

Patient Care Director - RN – Obstetrics/Post Partum - Full Time Days

At NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, we have a special place in our hearts for mothers and babies. Our first hospital, (opened in Manhattan in 1892), was dedicated just to them. Since moving to Queens in 1957, we have had the privilege to deliver nearly 100,000 babies. Maternal Child Health nurses have created a supportive, compassionate environment for all phases of ante- through postpartum care.

Our Obstetrics/Post Partum Unit is a 36-bed Mother-Baby Care unit and a Baby-Friendly Designated hospital that provides expert care for Women and newborns in a patient- and family-centered environment. Postpartum/Newborn services include Couplet care (mother and baby cared for together by RN), electronic infant security, and lactation specialists. The unit also provides specialized maternity care for women with high-risk antepartum and/or postpartum conditions.

The Patient Care Director (PCD) assumes first line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of patient care on an assigned unit and mentorship and evaluation for up to 60 FTEs. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the PCD participates in the establishment of unit(s) short and long term goals and ensures its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals. Now, you have the opportunity to join us!
