Department:Emergency - Our Chelsea Emergency Department has experienced physicians and nurses with advanced training in emergency medicine thatprovidecare365 daysa year in the 24-hour Emergency Department. More than18,000 patientsare treated each year for emergencies rangingfrom life threatening cardiac arrests and strokes,to major injuries and accidents, to more minor injuries.

Minimum pay rate:$16 00-19.49hr+ based upon applicable on the job patient care experience

Position Purpose:

The PCA, under the direction of a registered nurse,is responsible fordirect patient care considering age specific, developmental,culturaland spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean,safeand conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.
Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.Patient CareAssistant’sprovide continuous observation and monitoring of assigned patients. Notifies nursing staff if the patientrequiresassistance, control, or other nursingintervention Knowledgeable and supportive of patients, the confidentiality of HIPAA protected information, and otherrelated hospital policies.The PCAassistspatientin completing ADLsincluding:Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. They are responsibleto recordpatient information and required data inappropriate areastomeet documentation requirements
Shift Available:7pm-7am
Status Available:Part time, benefit eligible (48 hoursper pay period – every two weeks)
Every third weekend and holiday rotation
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or a minimum of 18 years of age.
Recent experience desired.
Ability tolift upto 35 pounds withoutassistance, lifting greater than 35 pounds using mechanicalassistance
