Position: Patient Care Assistant
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Assistant to join our team. The Patient Care Assistant will work closely with our healthcare team to provide support and assistance to patients during their stay at our facility. This is a full-time position, with 48 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Help patients with mobility and transferring to and from beds and chairs
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Perform basic medical procedures, such as taking blood pressure and administering medication under the supervision of a nurse
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant or patient care assistant preferred
- CPR certification preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to lift and move patients as needed
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
