Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a part-time Patient Benefits Specialist who is responsible for processing and responding to requests for information regarding the State Eligibility System and overseeing the patient Self Pay process. This role offers stability, ongoing training, and the opportunity to contribute to work that directly supports access to care.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is detail oriented, organized, and service focused, with the ability to manage sensitive financial and insurance information accurately.

In This Role, You Will:

• Generate, send and retrieve electronic reports to (Midnight Sun) State Eligibility System.
• Enter data into the patient medical record and updates applicable changes from the reports.
• Processes Midnight Sun reports for the entire system of services.
• Investigates discrepancies regarding patient payer information obtained from Midnight Sun.
• Inform internal staff of potential patient losses of insurance coverage.
• Update and monitor Midnight Sun spreadsheets that are shared with applicable staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff and all departments in response to requests for information.
• Track monthly payments from patients, generates and processes self-pay reports for patients going to collections.
• Maintain Midnight Sun and Self-Pay procedures and remains current with ongoing process changes.
• Work on special projects as needed.

Requirements

What Will You Bring to GRC

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with State Eligibility systems preferred.
• Experience with Self Pay processes preferred.
• Excellent organizational and data entry skills.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Other Requirements

• Pass PA Criminal Background Check
• Obtain both PA Childline and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances
• Drug Screen
• TB Testing

Work Environment

• Remote
• Favorable working conditions with minimal physical demands
• Role requires sustained focus and accuracy, as errors may impact revenue and delay payments
• Frequent supervision and instruction provided
