
Baptist Health is looking for a Patient Access Scheduler to join our team in Louisville, KY
Patient Access Schedulers are responsible for scheduling patients for diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by referring physicians (generally via Epic, fax or telephone). The Patient Access Scheduler will handle a large volume of incoming calls or faxes and schedule with multiple procedures within multiple departments. This person will be the first point of contact with patients or physician offices, and must ensure their needs are met. This person will be working in a fast paced environment where they will be expected to display expert customer service and communication skills to properly assist patients or office staff. They are responsible for informing patients and/or physician staff of the proper preparation and instructions for the tests ordered, and identify any precerts/authorizations/referrals they need to acquire. Must maintain effective communication with the patient, physician offices and ancillary departments within the hospital. Pre-registration, creation of payment estimates, insurance verification and benefit evaluation prior to appointment is imperative. Responsible for retaining orders for all scheduled appointments prior to service.

· Must type 45-50 wpm
· Registration or Scheduling Experience Preferred
