Patient Access Representative – Seidman Cancer CenterPortage Medical Center - Ravenna, Ohio Make a Difference in the Cancer Care ExperienceAs a Patient Access Representative within our Cancer Center, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and seamless experience for patients and families during some of the most important moments in their healthcare journey. Often serving as the first point of contact, you will help patients navigate appointments, registration, insurance, and communication with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.This highly visible role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional service while supporting patients receiving specialized oncology care. Your work directly contributes to both the patient experience and the coordination of high-quality cancer care across our multidisciplinary team. What You’ll DoWelcome and assist patients and families during check-in and check-out for cancer care visitsAnswer incoming calls, address patient questions, and schedule appointments with empathy and professionalismSupport patients in enrolling in and using MyChart to stay connected to their care teamAccurately enter and update demographic, insurance, and financial information to support smooth patient access and continuity of careCoordinate and communicate important information with physicians, nurses, and other members of the oncology care teamAssist with insurance verification, authorizations, referrals, and billing-related questionsCollect and process patient payments including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and prior balancesHelp patients complete necessary forms and documentation related to their careManage EPIC work queues, worklists, in-basket messages, and document scanning in a timely and accurate mannerSchedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic services to support continuity of cancer treatment What Makes This Role MeaningfulIn this role, you are more than a scheduler or registrar — you are an important part of the patient care experience. Qualifications
