Patient Access Representatives deliver what matters most to our patients and their families, ensure exceptional experiences and thrive on making positive impacts in the community. As a Patient Access Representative, you willbe the first person the patient will interact with once they are through security, allowing you tosetthe tone for how the visit goes. Patients are not at their best during an Emergency Department visit, requiring this caregiver to have empathy.Your role is essential to ensuring a seamless model of access for patients, physicians,and family membersandmaking each patient’s day better.
A caregiver in this position workseveningsfrom3:00PM – 11:00PM, includingevery other weekendand rotating holidays
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform registration and completean accurateface-to-face interview to obtain demographic, insurance,medicaland financial information.
Crosstrain tostaffall areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office,EDand cash register.
Maintain productivity and quality standards.
Function as a Super User and act as a resource fortraining ofnew caregivers.
Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing rolewith in-person or phone contact
ORan Associate’s Degreeand one year of experience
OR aBachelor’s Degree
Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year
Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
