A Brief Overview

Responsible to assist the leader to plan, organize, educate and implement activities related to the Patient Access core operations. The Coordinator has primary day-to- day responsibility of assuring workflow turnaround times are met, daily tracking of workflow, communication to the team, staff scheduling coordination, and special projects. The coordinator serves as a key liaison amongst the team.

What you will do

  • Effectively coordinate staff orientation, in-services, competencies, production, timeliness, quality, customer service, and efficiencies of Admission and Preadmission Representatives in areas of responsibilities.
  • Coordinates scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency.
  • Demonstrates good communication, continual education updates, and cooperative working relationship with all departments, co-workers and promotes a positive work environment.
  • Provides timely information to the Supervisor/Manager regarding the Patient Facing processes, staffing, customer service (all departments, patients and co-workers).
  • Monitors performance of staff, detects unsatisfactory trends/performance and deficiencies. Discusses needed performance improvement to staff as needed. Reports information to the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Provides input and assists in development of operational policies and procedures and assists in disseminating information to staff. Developing, training and retaining employees; planning, assigning and leading work; rewarding and coaching employees.
  • Ensures day-to-day workflow processes; identify workflow problems and recommend alternative solutions to problems. Monitors the quality and efficiency of the Patient Facing processes through auditing and key metrics.


Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years of revenue cycle (patient access, medical billing, insurance, collections) experience.
