As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will organize the activities and workflow of the Patient Access area.You will be a daily go-to for the team as a first resource for questions and support. You will also shadow in the interview process for new hires and support the onboarding process for new caregivers.Through providing coaching and support to caregivers who help patients, you will help provide the best outcomes possible.This role will allow you to create a foundation in healthcare and explore opportunities at Cleveland Clinic. Your fellow caregivers will encourage you to enhance your skills and explore advanced Customer Service, Clerical or Clinical positions in the future.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area.

  • Assign tasks andmonitorperformance ofandassistin training patient servicerepresentatives

  • Screen candidates, recommendhires, conduct performanceappraisalsand recommend corrective counseling.

  • Develop,implementand oversee programs to improve appointmentutilizationsuchas,reminder, follow-up on no-show/cancellation program.

  • Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems.

  • Adjustcaregivers,patientsand physicians' schedules to respond to operational problems.

  • Control and audit the reconciliation of daysheetsincluding adjusting statistics in the computer data bank.

  • Produce reports as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GEDand two years of Cleveland Clinic outpatient scheduling experience or equivalent, including interacting with patients, physicians, and other departments on a problem resolution basis

  • ORthree years of external outpatient scheduling experience, including resolving patient scheduling and the coordination of the work of others

  • ORAssociate Degreeand one year of experience

  • ORBachelor's Degree

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Previousmedical office experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech. Occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
