Job Objective:

Ensures that all patients have a satisfying registration experience and are provided with choices, options and counseling to assist them in making their healthcare decisions. Serves as the first point of contact for patients/visitors and graciously answers questions and assists in providing directions as needed. Coordinates notification to Admitting staff to ensure timely registration process is implemented. Education:
Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree
Preferred: Bi-Lingual

Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in healthcare setting or customer service Reports To: Supervisor, Manager, Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: All Ages Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Ability to operate general office equipment (i.e., computer, printer, scanner, telephone, etc.), Computer literate in usage of (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc), Excellent Customer service, excellent communication skills, Verbal and written skills and the ability to deal with difficult and stressful situations in a calm and professional manner

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
2. Greets patients/visitors and provides assistance as needed.
3. Maintains awareness of patient sequence order during waiting period.
4. Assists in the proper identification of patients that need to be registered by Admitting/Registration personnel.
5. Constantly stays in contact with patients in lobby to ensure they are comfortable and informed.
6. Respects at all times the Confidentiality of patient information and maintains a high level of discretion.
7. Maintains wheelchair availability at all times in the lobby area.
8. Organizes and maintains cleanliness of work area and supply cabinets.
9. Reviews E-mail notifications on a daily basis and responds within 24 hours if appropriate.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
