Position Summary: The Dermatology/Mohs Pathology Coordinator Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily pathology coordination, Mohs surgery pathology workflows, pathology result management, patient tracking, treatment follow-up, and staff supervision.  The supervisor serves as a key liaison between providers, laboratory personnel, clinical teams, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and optimal workflow efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Pathology & Mohs Coordination
- Oversee all dermatopathology and Mohs pathology workflows.
- Ensure pathology reports are reviewed, documented, and routed according to established protocols.
- Audit pathology logs regularly to identify missing reports, delays, or unresolved cases.
- Coordinate treatment scheduling and follow-up for malignant pathology results per the Providers protocols.
- Monitor pathology turnaround times and escalate delays as necessary.
- Serve as liaison between pathology laboratories, providers, and clinic staff.
- Ensure Mohs surgery pathology documentation is complete and accurately maintained.
Staff Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise and support Pathology Coordinators and associated staff.
- Provide onboarding, training, competency assessments, and ongoing education.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching for workflow improvement.
- Monitor productivity metrics and staffing needs.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and employee development along with manager.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and positive communication among departments.
Patient Care Coordination:
- Ensure timely communication of pathology results.
- Monitor schedules and assign staff when needed to fill schedules.
- Assist in resolving patient concerns related to pathology or treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and providers to support any concerns.
Operations Management:
- Develop and implement workflow improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Generate reports related to pathology volumes per brand and phone call metrics.
- Assist leadership with strategic initiatives related to pathology operations.
- Monitor and maintain pathology-related policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with scheduling teams to facilitate timely results and implement new processes.

QualificationsEducation:
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in dermatology, pathology, and Mohs surgery.
- Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dermatology terminology and pathology workflows.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems - Mod Med EMA and Next Gen EPM, and Phreesia
- Monitor AI dashboard
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred

Qualifications:
- Experience managing pathology logs and treatment tracking systems.
- Experience with Mohs surgery workflows and dermatopathology reporting.
- Experience developing training programs and competency assessments.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
