About the Role
You will be accountable for:
Correctly collecting, caring, storing, packaging and labelling pathology specimens
Providing a high quality pathology service to requesting doctors and patients
Greeting patients in a friendly and courteous manner and interviewing patients to ascertain key information for identification purposes
Referring Doctor/s information
Collection of category and billing information
Explaining procedures to patient and providing written instructions as appropriate
Collecting the required specimen(s), place in suitably labelled containers, fix laboratory number stickers, store and transport appropriately
Couriering specimens / reports from the collection location to the required destination if required

Salary Range: Collector Grade 2 IN24 - $31.65
Collector Mobile IN25 - $36.46
Your Contribution
Certificate 3 or 4 in Pathology Collection
Experience in a Pathology collection service is highly desirable, preferably previous experience in the points listed above.
Highly developed customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written)

About Pathology
St Vincent’s Pathology is a private practice offering diagnostic testing to both inpatients of St Vincent’s Private Hospitals located in Fitzroy, East Melbourne and Kew, St Vincent’s Public Hospital Fitzroy as well as servicing privately referred patients in up to 80 Pathology Collection centres located across Metropolitan Melbourne.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
