PathGroup/SEPA Labs is excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist with specialized expertise in transfusion medicine or blood banking to join a high-performing, hospital-based practice in vibrant Jacksonville, Florida. This role provides the chance to work within a collaborative team of seasoned pathologists at a premier medical center with access to advanced diagnostic resources and meaningful clinical engagement.

As a known and trusted pathology group in the Southeast, SEPA Labs brings extensive regional expertise and support to the Jacksonville area. You’ll be working alongside a collegial team led by Dr. Shadi Qasem, with access to excellent resources and a strong clinical partnership.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic acumen, a fellowship or significant experience in blood banking/transfusion medicine, and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Expertise should span all facets of transfusion medicine, including immunohematology, consultative hemotherapy, apheresis and exchange procedures, hematopoietic progenitor cell and mononuclear cell processing, cellular therapy, coagulation management, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in general surgical pathology is also expected. A minimum of three years of post-training experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpretation of blood bank/transfusion medicine cases
  • General surgical pathology and cytopathology sign-out (as needed)
  • Participation in quality improvement and hospital committee work
  • Intraoperative consultations and frozen sections

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • AP/CP Board Certification or Eligibility
  • Fellowship training or experience in transfusion medicine/blood banking strongly preferred
  • Florida medical license or eligibility required
  • Excellent diagnostic, communication, and teamwork skills
