Pathlab is a substantial, privately owned pathology group providing integrated community and hospital services across Bay of Plenty, Lakes and Waikato. Pathologists have owned Pathlab for more than 40 years, and practising pathologists remain closely involved in the direction of the business, including at Board level. Pathlab is seeking an early-career Anatomical Pathologist / Histopathologist to join our Bay of Plenty team. This role will suit a newly qualified pathologist, or a senior trainee approaching fellowship and registration, who is looking for a strong start in a service that is modern, well supported, and professionally ambitious.

You will be joining experienced colleagues in a group that combines broad diagnostic practice with established digital capability and a clear sense of where pathology is heading. The Opportunity

• You will join a collegial, diverse team of histopathologists and scientists
• Provide high-quality diagnostic pathology services, including regular onsite macroscopy or grossing service and supervision, fine needle aspiration clinic services with outreach clinics, registrar teaching, gynaecological cytology reporting +/- postmortem examination
• Work closely with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to service development and clinical quality initiatives
• Explore new approaches to digital pathology, data utilisation, and service design
• Play a role in shaping the future direction of pathology services within amodern laboratory environment
• Provide onsite, not remote off-site service.

• Hold, or are eligible for registration in pathology with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• Are newly qualified, in the early years of specialist practice, or nearing completion of training
