Job Description

PathGroup is seeking an experienced AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist with subspecialty training in Gynecologic Pathology to join our hospital-based team supporting Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is a full-time opportunity within a large tertiary care center, comprehensive cancer center, and academic teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga.

This role offers a balanced mix of subspecialty gynecologic pathology and general surgical pathology, with additional responsibilities in non-gynecologic cytopathology. The ideal candidate is collaborative, clinically strong, and thrives in a team-oriented, academically engaged environment with access to advanced digital pathology tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary sign-out of surgical pathology cases, with focus on gynecologic pathology
  • Interpretation of non-gynecologic cytopathology
  • Perform frozen sections and intraoperative consultations
  • Participate in rapid onsite evaluation (ROSE)
  • Share call responsibilities with the pathology team
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams and participate in tumor boards
  • Contribute to quality initiatives and clinical excellence

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • AP/CP Board Certification or Board Eligibility
  • Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology or subspecialty training in Gynecologic Pathology preferred
  • Board certification in Cytopathology is a plus, but not required
  • Eligible for or currently hold a Tennessee medical license
  • Strong diagnostic skills and clinical judgment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
