Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the prosecution of patent, petty patent and design applications and draft submissions/arguments in response to related office actions.
  • Conduct search and analysis of patent and petty patent documents to determine the patentability of inventions.
  • Draft patent descriptions relating to the technical domain that he/she is specialised in.
  • Provide consultancy services to clients regarding patent, petty patent and designs in Thailand, including patentability opinions, Freedom to Operate analysis and related patent advisory matters.
  • Provide patent infringement analysis and preliminary infringement advice before the work is sent to Litigation Counsels (should there be a dispute in Court).
  • Contribute articles and speak at seminars to increase awareness of IP and to educate the public.
  • Oversee and supervise the translators and translation work in Thailand, ensuring all is in order and work is delivered on time to the patent.
  • Develop and lead a capable, competent and efficient patent team in Thailand.
  • Meet local clients via online meetings to generate local work in Thailand.
  • Exercise and display good conceptual, analytical, and reasoning skills in dealing with challenges and in growing the team in Thailand.
  • Practice excellent work ethics and possess good interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Has experience supervising a team.
  • Being Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with experience in patent prosecution, drafting patent applications, and responding to office actions is advantage.
  • Good command of English.
