PerkinElmer is seeking a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with a background in mass spectrometry and chromatography instrumentation to join our Intellectual Property team. This is a full-time, on-site position based at PerkinElmer’s Woodbridge, Ontario facility. This role partners closely with inventors and R&D teams to capture and protect innovations and support PerkinElmer's Analytical Solutions, including mass spectrometry and chromatography instrumentation, software, and related products. Responsibilities will include patent portfolio management, invention harvesting, patent drafting and prosecution, performing patent searches and freedom-to-operate analyses, strategic planning, competitive landscape assessments, providing due diligence and transactional support, and advising on various patent matters. The successful candidate will function as a trusted technical peer to scientists and engineers, spending time on the laboratory floor and in cross-functional design reviews, bringing a rigorous technical foundation in mass spectrometry and chromatography combined with demonstrated expertise in Canadian and U.S. patent practice.

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $130,000.00 to $160,000.00 . The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
