We are looking for a skilled and motivated Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate has a passion for baking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries and desserts while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and food safety standards.

St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel San Antonio, opened in 1909 and has been designated a national historic site. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and bake pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to recipes and standards

  • Assist with daily production and prep for service

  • Ensure consistent quality, flavor, and presentation

  • Properly measure, mix, and prepare ingredients

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation

  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

  • Assist with inventory, labeling, and storage of ingredients

  • Collaborate with the pastry chef and kitchen team as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • At least 1 year Previous experience as a pastry cook or baker preferred

  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry production

  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Early morning, weekend, and holiday availability as needed

  • Culinary degree or formal training is a plus, but not required

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous basis.
