Max a Mia is an upscale, Italian-inspired restaurant known for its artisan pizzas, wood-fired dishes, and signature Italian recipes. With a welcoming atmosphere and a focus on exceptional service, Max a Mia offers an elevated yet approachable dining experience for guests. The ideal candidate will be polished, detail-oriented, and able to create a memorable experience for every guest, from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will assist the Pastry Chef in crafting house-made desserts, specialty desserts for private events, and seasonal creations that align with the restaurant’s vision. Experience in a fine-dining kitchen is a plus, and prior work in a salad bar or raw bar station is especially advantageous, as adaptability in various kitchen roles is a key component of this position.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Pastry Chef in creating high-quality desserts, including house-made and specialty desserts for private events
- Work with local farmers and seasonal ingredients to craft flavorful and unique dishes
- Support the team in other kitchen duties as required, including occasionally working the salad bar or shucking at the raw bar station
- Collaborate with the team to update and experiment with the dessert menu, adding new items and seasonal selections
- Ensure all food preparation follows food safety and quality standards
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a passion for pastry

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience in a fine-dining kitchen, with a focus on pastry, is preferred
- Weekend availability and flexibility to work at least one day during the weekend is a MUST
- Experience in a salad bar or raw bar station is a PLUS
- Strong adaptability and a positive attitude toward working in various kitchen roles
- Creativity and an eagerness to contribute new ideas to the pastry program
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- High attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience for guests
