Salary Range: $22.50 - $23.50 Hourly

The Pastry Assistant will support the pastry chef in the preparation and creation of a variety of baked goods and desserts. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and presentation of pastries meet the high standards expected by our establishment. The Pastry Assistant will also assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the pastry department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and baking of pastries, cakes, and other desserts following established recipes and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the pastry chef to develop new recipes and menu items.
- Ensure all baked goods are prepared to the highest quality standards and presented attractively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, including equipment and utensils.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Provide support in decorating and finishing pastries and desserts for service.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in pastry arts.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school certification in pastry arts is preferred.
Required

Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a professional kitchen, specifically in pastry or baking.
- Experience in preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of pastry techniques and baking processes.
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions with precision.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
