About Department
All Pastoral Practitioners are qualified professionals with spiritual care training. They work flexibly across all sites on agreed rostered days, with responsivity for specific care centres and wards.
About the Role
You are accountable to the Manager of Pastoral Services while proving spiritual and emotional support to the people in SVHM's care in line with our model of pastoral practice.
This position is primarily located at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Werribee. However, may also be across all locations.
Salary: $37 - $41 per hour plus a casual loading of 25%
Duties
Provide spiritual and emotional care for patients, residents and family members
Respond to referrals as soon as possible and document appropriately
Liaise with external faith chaplaincy teams to ensure appropriate liturgical or sacramental response is provided to meet specific needs
Attend and contribute to Pastoral, multidisciplinary team meetings and education sessions
Comply with St Vincent's policies, procedures, directions and learning requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
A tertiary qualification in Spiritual Care or Theology eg Master of Arts or SocSc (specialising in spiritual care, counselling)
Recognised training in Pastoral/Spiritual Care eg 400 hours, x2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent
Experience in Pastoral/Spiritual care in an Aged Health Care setting
Emotional and Spiritual maturity with an appreciation of people with differing value systems, faiths and cultural backgrounds
Excellent listening and spiritual assessment skills

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
