What to Expect

Join Tesla’s passive safety test team to advance vehicle safety through airbag deployment testing. This role supports vehicle development, regulatory certification, and consumer safety ratings by executing tests, managing data acquisition, and maintaining precision across test preparation, execution, and post-analysis.

What You’ll Do

• Configure vehicles, components, and crash test dummies for airbag deployment tests
• Operate measurement systems including DTS data acquisition and high-speed cameras
• Record test parameters, results, and incidents with meticulous detail
• Maintain a safe, organized lab environment adhering to 5S standards
• Modify test setups using fabrication tools including mill, lathe, and welding
• Repair and calibrate lab equipment

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and operate forklifts
• Proficiency with hand tools, shop equipment, and Microsoft Office suite
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret test regulations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• 1+ years of experience in automotive safety testing
• Background in data acquisition or automotive instrumentation
• Metal fabrication skills or photography experience

Expected Compensation

$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
