The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Passive Fire Service Technician to join our growing Passive Fire team on the Gold Coast. In this role, you'll be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, rectifications, installations, call-outs and defect management across passive fire systems. You'll complete all works with integrity and in full compliance with fire industry standards, while representing Fire Services Qld professionally in the field.
This position plays a key role in ensuring fire compliance standards are achieved and maintained through high-quality workmanship and professional service delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

Carrying out maintenance, repair, rectification, installation and call-out works across passive fire systems including fire doors, penetration seals, fire dampers, fire collars, batts and mastic systems

Preparing, organising and transporting required tools, consumables and equipment to site

Accurately entering and maintaining data in the online job management system and completing all compliance documentation, reports and checklists

Reporting and managing critical and non-critical defect notices, ensuring accurate communication to office personnel

Applying strong technical logic and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve faults and non-conformances

Ensuring all assigned jobs are completed on time and to specification, with proactive communication with the office

Maintaining all required trade licences and regulatory credentials as current at all times

Acting as the professional face of Fire Services Qld on site, maintaining strong client relationships and responding to site-related queries in a customer-focused manner

Complying with all WHS policies, site safety obligations and QMS requirements

Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment on all sites
Your Skills, Experience & Attributes

Experience in passive fire systems servicing including hands-on maintenance, inspection and installation of passive fire protection products

Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, legislation and codes of practice applicable to passive fire systems

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

High level written and verbal communication skills

Current applicable trade licences

Current open driver's licence

Current White Card

Ability to obtain a clean police check, clear employment medical and positive notice blue card

Proficiency in electronic job management or field service systems (desirable)

Additional certifications or trade accreditations relevant to the fire safety industry (desirable)

First aid certificate (desirable)
