We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $18.00–$30.00 hourly wage. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Summary

Passivation is the critical juncture of all product it’s the last step prior to packaging and the last set of operators to handle the customer order. For components, it’s the last cleaning stage prior to assembly. Passivation technicians are responsible for the final visual overview, cleanliness and for the proper documentation packages for all products that the customer receives. Represent Viant in a professional and exemplary manner before our suppliers, employees and community at large.

Responsibilities

  • Follow ASTM F-86 for passivation tank preparation and monitoring as follows:
  • Monitor and document concentricity of the acid tanks, replace/dispose or add acid as necessary.
  • Monitor rinse tank water and dispose and replace as necessary.
  • Monitor ultrasonic tank and dispose when necessary.
  • Monitor nitric acid tank and dispose when necessary with supervision.
  • Document all rinse tank changes and ultrasonic changes.
  • Schedules product flow through tank system.
  • Loading on stainless steel trays, submerging into tanks for the passivation process * and unloading product with proper handling techniques.
  • Final Inspection of all product prior to shipping or inventory storage, inspection consist of the following:
  • Visual Criteria’s per customer requirements (stains, nicks, blast, scratches, pits, particles, uniformity etc.)
  • Hard gaging and/or thread gage of all applicable product.
  • Verification of laser marking.
  • Notifying proper positions of nonconformity if applicable.
  • Packages final product for shipment or inventory
  • Document packing requirements on set-up sheets.
  • Issues and documents components/labels to assemblies/product.
  • Assists inventory verification every 6 month
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills are used.
  • Final verification of all products.
  • Provides a complete documentation package for each product lot shipping and/or for inventory
  • Internal package: Traveler, Packing list, C of C, Material certs, Special process certs, Inspection reports
  • For shipping: Packing list, C of C, Material certs, Special process certs, Inspection reports
  • For inventory: Material certs, Special process certs, Inspection reports
  • Complies with work rules including those pertaining to safety, health, quality system, and Viant Quality Management System.
  • Verify the revision level for the current operation (operation sheets, blue prints)
  • Verify Pc. Count and all applicable documentation for completion of previous operations.
  • To complete all applicable documentation for the current operation (i.e. Shop traveler sign off and first pc, inspection record sheet, and/or AQL and NCMR)
  • Training lesser grade individuals
  • Beginning to understand and implement optimizing tank load for efficiency and output
  • Assist in supporting VKS documentation of passivation and packaging procedures

Environmental working conditions

  • Working with cutting & machining fluids, solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Moderate to significant amounts of bending, lifting, twisting and sitting.
  • Moderate to significant periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be willing and able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toed shoes.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • 2-5 years experience with visual inspection of medical product or excellent visual techniques.
  • Experience working with hazards chemicals.
  • Must be able to make competent decisions.
  • Must be able to schedule product flow.
  • Must be able to work in a fast past demanding environment where priorities are constantly changing. Must be able to adapt to each new priority quickly.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to communicate work needs/requirement to assisting employees.
  • Basic computer experience with Ms Excel.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Complete all job specific required training.
  • Perform duties to achieve overall business unit metrics.
  • Comply to all safety regulations, wears appropriate safety equipment as required in each area of the facility.
