Job Description

Optime Group are proudly working in partnership with a well-known Luton Airport ground handling business to recruit a team of Passenger Service Agents.

Are you interested in a career in the aviation sector? Optime are looking for Passenger Service Agents to join a prestigious client at Luton Airport. This role is open to applicants who have no previous security experience and a genuine interest in aviation, customer service and security.

All necessary training will be fully paid and provided by sector experts including support in obtaining relevant background checks. There is on-site mentoring and clear career pathways leading to specialist management roles within our team, so think big!

What's on offer:

  • Rate of pay: £13.02 per hour (Day Shifts / Night Shift)
  • This role is a flexible working position, you must be available fully flexible and able to pick up a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
  • Shift times : Between the hours of 03:00am and 00:00am. You must be able to pick up early shifts.
  • Shift lengths: 6-8 hour shifts.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday to book shift mandatory + 1-2 additional days selected by you !
  • Shift times available:
      • 04:00 to 10:00
      • 04:30 to 10:30
      • 12:00 to 18:00
      • 18:00 to 00:00
  • Temp to Perm (performance-based)

Start Date:

  • 8th of July 2026 -Induction 3 days

Key Duties:

  • Being professional, polite and courteous at all times.
  • Escorting arriving and departing special assistance passengers (along with accompanying family as necessary) through the airport either on foot, by wheelchair or electric buggy/caddy as depicted by their categorisation.
  • Providing assistance with the passenger luggage.
  • Completing the Daily Equipment Check Sheet, to maintain the operational reliability of the equipment, reporting where necessary, any equipment defects in line with the equipment inspection procedure.
  • Ensuring that wheelchairs and buggies are always clean and tidy.
  • Ensure that Centralised Control is updated on progress by use of IT handsets.
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed legibly and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Any additional reasonable duties, as assigned by operational management.

Requirements:

  • Great work ethic.
  • Must be flexible for early starts.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Customer Service
  • Self-motivated and willing to work using your own initiative.
  • Full UK Driving licence (desirable).
  • The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Previous airport experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • UK Settled Status (If applicable).
  • 5 Year Address History
  • 5 Year Work Reference History
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic DBS record check following interview in line with CAA requirements.
