Job Description

The Parts Clerk is directly responsible to the Parts Clerk Lead. The Parts Clerk shall work in the stockroom area on a daily basis providing support to the Technicians and Customer Service.

The Parts Clerk’s duties include but are not limited to:

  • Receive incoming shipments, ensuring boxes and/or containers are free of damage
  • Open boxes of inventory and carefully inspect paperwork and box contents
  • Perform Receiving Inspection, check off the paperwork
  • Assemble Kits - pull separate parts and assemble them into one kit in a baggie or container
  • Pull parts from the inventory shelves and give the parts to Technicians
  • Communicate with Technicians to ensure accuracy of the parts and quantities
  • Enter part numbers, quantities, and work order numbers into the computer system
  • Look up inventory part numbers and quantities in the computer system
  • Place Inventory in Proper Containers on Shelf
  • Ensure Parts Room is clean and organized
  • Perform inventory cycle counts to verify quantity and availability
  • Support Shipping department as required
  • Opening of customer units deliveries and carefully inspect paperwork and box contents

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Clear handwriting
  • Ability to accurately count parts, even very small parts
  • Ability to efficiently use a computer keyboard to enter data and look up information
  • Ability to stand at a counter for a few hours at a time each day, and/or sit on a stool at a counter
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and outgoing way
  • Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 pounds
  • Regular use of a push-cart to transport most heavy items
  • Excellent attendance and a positive attitude
  • 1 – 2 years in related field
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Highly responsive to internal and external customer requirements, with a high attention for detail
  • Must work well with others
  • Ability to multiple tasks
  • Individual must have strong data entry skills and to be fast and accurate
  • Enjoy working in a fast pace environment
  • Must be flexible to work long hours including weekends as needed

Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to perform PC keyboarding for extended periods.
