We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Parts Interpreter to join our Mount Isa team. In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you'll be the vital link between our customers, workshop teams, and supply network, helping keep equipment moving and operations running at their best. What you’ll be doing:
As a Parts Interpreter Hastings Deering, you will:
- Interpret and source CAT® parts – utilise industry-leading systems, catalogues and technical resources to accurately identify components and deliver the right solution the first time.
- Provide expert parts support – assist customers, technicians and service teams with professional advice, product knowledge and tailored parts solutions.
- Manage customer orders from enquiry to delivery – prepare quotes, process sales orders and invoices, and ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Drive parts availability and inventory performance – monitor stock levels, backorders and urgent requirements to keep customers and workshops moving.
- Maintain accurate inventory and system records – ensure stock transactions, documentation and data entry are completed with precision and attention to detail.
- Deliver outstanding customer service – build strong relationships by providing responsive, professional and solution-focused support.
What you’ll need:
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Experienced Parts Interpreter – bring previous experience in heavy equipment, automotive, mining, or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude – demonstrate solid understanding of mechanical concepts.
- CAT systems knowledge – experience with CAT systems or similar OEM platforms is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication – interact professionally with customers, technicians, and internal teams.
- Licences an advantage – holding a current driver’s licence and forklift licence is preferred.
- High attention to detail – maintain accuracy in documentation, stock control, and daily tasks.
- Team‑focused and adaptable – work effectively with others while managing competing priorities.
