CarShop is seeking a Parts Counterperson to serve as the primary point of contact between our Parts Department and Service Team. In this role, you'll ensure technicians receive the right parts at the right time while maintaining inventory, building vendor relationships, and supporting the overall success of our service operations.

What You'll Do

As a Parts Counterperson, you'll help keep our service department operating efficiently by ensuring technicians have the parts they need to complete repairs quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Service Technicians and Service Managers with parts requests
  • Maintain an accurate and organized parts inventory
  • Source, order, and distribute the correct parts in a timely manner
  • Research and secure the best pricing from approved vendors
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while identifying new supplier opportunities
  • Communicate parts order status and delivery updates to technicians and other departments
  • Assist with inventory control, stocking, and organization
  • Utilize computer systems and online resources, including eBay, to locate hard-to-find parts
  • Support departmental goals while delivering exceptional internal customer service

What We're Looking For

  • Previous automotive parts experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of automotive parts and inventory management
  • Strong computer skills, including experience using online marketplaces such as eBay
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including background and drug testing

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Medium/Heavy Work - Will lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.
This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time
This position requires the ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis.
This position requires the ability to perform repetitive motion (doing the same activity over and over throughout the day)

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or the equivalent and one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of one year's experience working in the service drive or at an auto parts retailer or wholesaler.

ASE Certification preferred but not required
i-Car Certification preferred but not required
Specific manufacturer's certification preferred but not required
Valid Driver's License
