Cisco Equipment Rentals is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Parts Counter Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting customers and technicians with parts inquiries, sales, and inventory management for heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of equipment parts and a commitment to delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Assist walk-in and call-in customers with parts inquiries and purchases.
  • Provide expert guidance on parts compatibility and availability.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing needs promptly and professionally.

Parts Sales

  • Promote and sell parts and accessories to customers and technicians.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell parts and services.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, including quotes, invoices, and payments.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain an organized and accurate parts inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock replenishment.
  • Monitor parts usage trends and provide feedback to the Parts Manager on inventory needs.

Technical Support

  • Utilize parts catalogs, diagrams, and systems to identify and locate specific parts.
  • Collaborate with technicians and service teams to fulfill parts requests promptly.

Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in a parts counter or similar role, preferably in heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment brands such as Linkbelt, JCB, Hyundai, Caterpillar, Komatsu, or John Deere is a plus.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Proficient in using parts catalogs, inventory systems, and related software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and technical aspects of heavy equipment parts.

Skills:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling parts and transactions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically active environment.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
