Job Description

Keep every part accounted for. Build clear structures – so every radar configuration built and serviced in the field works as intended.

As our Parts, BOM and Configuration Management Engineer, you bring order and precision to our complex product structures.

You take charge of maintaining part details, building accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), and tracking changes across the full product lifecycle.

Working closely with I&D, Procurement and Production, you ensure the right parts and data flow seamlessly into our systems.

You report to the Head of Engineering, making sure our radar systems are built right every single time.

What you'll do

  • Part identification and cataloguing: Ensure all parts carry precise part numbers, descriptions, and detailed technical specifications. Safeguard accurate ordering so the right components are always available when needed.
  • BOM creation and lifecycle management: Develop and maintain detailed BOMs containing all required materials, subassemblies, and supplier data. Ensure correct quantities and specifications are recorded to support flawless production.
  • Configuration control and change tracking: Implement robust configuration management processes and software tools across product lines. Track design modifications and customer-specific variations to maintain full revision control.
  • Lifecycle recordkeeping and traceability: Keep thorough records of drawings, revision changes, and product configurations over time. Guarantee end-to-end traceability for every product variant from design to maintenance.
  • Production and cross-functional support: Guide Production teams with accurate configuration data for assembly, repairs, and updates. Partner with R&D Innovation, Project Management, and Procurement teams to align standards.
  • ERP and PLM integration: Integrate BOMs and configuration rules into our ERP and PLM software systems. Embed configuration management best practices across internal teams to keep operations seamless.

What you bring

  • BSc or MSc degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in BOM and configuration management, ideally in high-tech
  • Solid understanding of part classification, BOM structures, and configuration principles
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and PLM software platforms
  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong eye for detail
  • Collaborative team player who communicates clearly across different cultures
  • Self-motivated mindset, fully capable of working independently

N.B. Don't worry if you don't tick every box. Our mission is a journey, and there's plenty to learn along the way. If most of this fits, we'd love to hear from you.

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and a background check are part of our screening process. We appreciate your understanding.

About Robin Radar Systems

We’re Robin Radar Systems, and we have you covered.

Robin is a Netherlands-based technology leader in bird and drone radar. Our mission is to provide actionable information that increases safety, for humans and wildlife alike. Our systems are built for accuracy, delivering 360° coverage and early warnings. They empower teams in aviation, ecology, defence and security with reliable updates and alerts of potential hazards.

We do that by combining cutting-edge hardware with smart software. Our technologies may be ahead of the pack, but our people make us great. Looking for an innovative adventure that spans the globe? Join ours! https://www.robinradar.com/careers

Bird Strike Prevention in Aviation

Our bird radar systems monitor and store bird movements around the clock. With MAX, you get 3D, 360° awareness, 365 days a year. As well as bringing awareness to a whole new level, our radars provide key insights, like data trends and activity hotspots, to assess and strengthen strategies and KPIs.

Bird Monitoring at Wind Farms

Increasingly, permits to build wind farms are given under the pre-condition that bird movements are continuously monitored before, during and after construction. Our 3D avian radars simultaneously detect and log thousands of birds and bats, providing extensive reporting for your wind farm’s smooth development and operation. MAX can even detect the beginning of mass migrations and, if needed, trigger the temporary shutdown of single or groups of turbines. Protect wildlife, minimise downtime.

Drone Detection in Critical Environments

Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or ‘drones’ bring new opportunities, but also severe safety and security threats. We believe advanced detection is your first line of defence, so our systems are deployable, integrate seamlessly, and provide 360° coverage, even on the move. Our purpose-built drone detection radar, IRIS, can detect, track, and automatically distinguish birds from drones.
