As a Parts Associate with Southern States Material Handling :

You will contribute to making Southern States Material Handling a leader in the material handling industry by supporting internal and external customers in supplying parts and accessories, and processing all parts needs, and assisting to maintain an effective parts inventory.

What we’re looking for:

  • 1-2 years of experience in parts sales or inventory-related work preferred; experience in material handling or industrial parts is a plus.
  • Forklift or material handling parts sales experience or product knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to type 25+ wpm.
  • Proven Customer service skills, including telephone etiquette, supporting both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent organizational skills

Education and Certification Needed:

  • High school diploma or GED

What you’ll Do:

  • Promptly respond to incoming parts inquiry calls and efficiently process customer orders.
  • Assist and interact with walk-in customers, supporting parts needs & providing exceptional customer service.
  • Responsible for replenishment of technician vans, company, and customer parts lockers, ensuring inventories are accurately maintained.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and timeliness by performing daily cycle counts, managing stock orders, verifying proper receipt and storage of incoming parts, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Fulfill daily parts requests by processing orders promptly and efficiently to support operational needs.
  • Lookup parts in inventory and electronic catalogs supplying the correct part identification and retrieval.
  • Create sales quotes and invoices providing accurately priced parts and accessories.
  • Monitor and review open purchase orders daily to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment, escalating any issues such as backordered or unavailable parts through the appropriate channels as necessary.
  • Accurately receive purchase orders by inspecting parts, entering data into the ERP system closing purchase orders upon completion, properly stocking items, and maintaining a clean, organized inventory.
  • Adhere to all company safety and compliance regulations and company policy.
  • Additional duties may include occasionally delivering parts to customer locations, pressing tires, and preparing displays.
  • Mon-Fri 8am – 5pm
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 55 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
