Brief Role Description

This position is a career level 19P, and is located in Reston, VA with a role classification of Hybrid.

The purpose of this role is to design, execute, and monitor the Audi Market Intelligent Pricing Strategy based on competitive OEM and aftermarket research data, internal goals, and dealer input. Research Parts and Accessories pricing competition for OEM and aftermarket and recommend price changes to optimize price competitiveness and profitability.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Main responsibility – 70% of time spent

Data analysis (35%)

  • Gather data from various sources related to sales, profit, and market research.
  • Ensure consistency in the extraction, manipulation, interpretation, and application of data.
  • Perform pricing studies for new vehicle launches, vendor price change impacts, and warranty impact. Analyze parts pricing in relation to aftermarket parts suppliers, collision services, and other OE Manufacturers.
  • Organize data, prepare opportunity proposals / business cases.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize parts and accessory price competitiveness and profitability
  • Contribute to the achievement of divisional profit objectives (specifically parts margin)
  • Maintain pricing models, and performing system updates.
  • Analyze sales impact resulting from pricing actions.

Prepare, present, and implement price change proposals (35%)

  • Summarize and analyze OEM and aftermarket competitor price information to identify price change opportunities. Perform price analyses, ensure consistency to current pricing models for various parts segments, and generate proposals of possible scenarios to the Parts Pricing Committee.
  • Prepare pricing presentations to be reviewed by Group, VW, and Audi management.
  • Prepare CTM level PowerPoint presentations containing various After Sales content.
  • Coordinate with Finance for price change implementation.
  • Track and report price changes.
  • Maintain and update strategic parts groups on a quarterly basis.
  • Perform ROI analysis and report on the effectiveness of price changes on a monthly basis, evaluate price elasticity and if objectives not being met, recommend solutions. Analyze parts cost changes, recommending and presenting pricing revisions to the Parts Pricing Committee for review and approval.
  • Develop and strategize efficiencies for current pricing processes.

Additional responsibilities – 30% of time

Organize and analyze 3rd party vendor price competitive data (10%)

  • Work with the competitive parts pricing data vendor and the VW and Audi Parts Pricing Specialists to lead the process to data selected for research.
  • Work with vendor to determine data requirements and potential improvements
  • Keep vendor on schedule for all deliverables.

Price and Maintain Accessories for the Port and Dealer channels (10%)

  • Work with Accessories Sales Manager to price launched port options as well price and maintain margin structure in line with vehicle pricing
  • Price new dealer accessories with the help of Accessories Business Development Lead, Accessories Sales Manager and maintain margin structure in line with AoA and VWGoA targets
  • Conduct accessory pricing studies to understand competitive market
  • Support Operations and Program Development teams in price adjustments during time of promotion or incentive pushes

Department support activities (10%)

  • QMS Coordination for Audi BI & Planning Department
  • Research & Special project support for Business Development Leads

Qualification requirements

5-7 years

Education

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or analytical related field

Desired

Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or analytical related field

Skills

Ability to manage and analyze large amount of data from various sources. Present findings to management and propose recommendations. Excellent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Tableau and Power BI.

Specialized Skills

Required

  • Experience with database software (SAP Business Warehouse, Desktop Intelligence)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel /PowerPoint) and Tableau/Power BI
  • Excellent presentation skills

Desired

  • Program Management experience in the automotive industry or a related field
  • Familiarity with Automotive Parts Catalogs.
  • Pricing strategy experience
  • Knowledge of automotive dealer operations

Work Flexibiity

  • Occasional domestic and German travel required.
