About the team and the role:
We are hiring a Senior Manager, Programming & Partnerships to direct programming, production, site merchandising, and the delivery of go-to-market initiatives for eBay Live Canada. This role belongs to the Canadian eBay Live organization and reports to the Country Manager, eBay Live CA.
This senior leadership position is charged with transforming eBay Live Canada’s category and business priorities into engaging live programming, partner activations, merchandising plans, and market-facing campaigns. Category Management teams will establish category strategy, seller priorities, and commercial growth goals; this role will be responsible for converting those priorities into impactful programming and implementation plans that enhance buyer engagement, seller success, and GMV growth.
The Senior Manager will take charge of the eBay Live Canada programming calendar, production roadmap, merchandising approach, and go-to-market efforts for key live commerce events, collaborating closely with Category Management, Marketing, Business Development, Product, Live Ops, Analytics, and external partners to ensure major programs are strategically aligned, commercially meaningful, creatively compelling, and operationally ready. This role will also assist the Country Manager with go-to-market and partnership projects, including strategic partner opportunities, priority launches, market-facing activations, and engagement with senior collaborators.

What you will accomplish:
Lead the eBay Live Canada programming strategy and calendar, making sure live events correspond to category priorities, seller opportunities, cultural moments, seasonal campaigns, and business objectives.
Direct Programming, Production, and Merchandising for eBay Live Canada, making sure each live event is engaging for buyers, beneficial for sellers, and operationally feasible.
Convert category strategies and seller priorities into live programming concepts, partner activations, merchandising plans, and go-to-market campaigns.
Lead and guide the Programming function, providing direction, prioritization, mentoring, and operating rhythms to support high-quality execution across live events and campaigns.
Act as the main liaison for Marketing regarding eBay Live Canada programming and GTM rollout, guaranteeing campaigns, content, messaging, merchandising, and promotional plans are coordinated.
Assist the Country Manager with strategic partnerships and GTM initiatives, covering priority partner activations, market-facing launches, external relationships, and cross-functional planning.
Collaborate closely with Category Management to grasp commercial priorities, seller readiness, supply gaps, buyer demand, and category-specific opportunities that should guide programming decisions.
Collaborate with Business Development and seller-facing teams to bring priority sellers, brands, creators, agencies, and external partners into the eBay Live programming and activation roadmap.
Develop and complete tentpole events, recurring franchises, seller-led shows, partner-led activations, seasonal campaigns, and category-specific programming moments.
Lead the operating model for programming delivery, including planning cadences, calendars, readiness trackers, run-of-show standards, production workflows, merchandising plans, and post-event reviews.
Lead cross-functional coordination across Category, Marketing, Product, Live Ops, Analytics, Legal, Finance, Production, and global eBay Live teams to ensure programs are delivered on time and at a high standard.
Use data and insights to evaluate programming performance, including GMV impact, buyer engagement, repeat viewership, seller performance, merchandising efficiency, and campaign outcomes.

Prepare clear updates, recommendations, and business reviews for the Country Manager and cross-functional leadership, emphasizing performance, risks, opportunities, and next-best actions.

What you will bring:
7+ years of experience in programming, partnerships, GTM, content strategy, ecommerce, marketplace growth, media, retail, business development, production, or related commercial roles.
Experience leading programming, content, campaign, GTM, or partner activation strategies in a fast paced, cross-functional environment.
Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to link programming, merchandising, collaborations, and marketing activities to measurable business results.
Proven ability to translate business and category priorities into clear execution plans, programming calendars, partner activations, and GTM campaigns.
Experience leading teams or functions, with the ability to set direction, mentor talent, prioritize work, and build accountability.
Strong collaborator management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, internal teams, strategic sellers, external partners, agencies, and cross-functional peers.
Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust, navigate ambiguity, address blocking issues, and move complex initiatives forward.
Solid project and program management expertise, with the capability to handle timelines, owners, dependencies, risks, launch preparedness, and post-event assessments.
Creative programming instincts, with the ability to craft engaging live commerce concepts, major events, recurring franchises, seller-led shows, and partner activations.
Strong GTM instincts, with experience working closely with Marketing on campaign planning, audience targeting, messaging, merchandising, promotional plans, and launch execution.
Analytical outlook, with comfort using data to evaluate performance, find opportunities, diagnose issues, and recommend next-best actions.
High ownership, strong bias for action, and a proactive operating style; someone who anticipates needs, takes initiative, and drives work forward independently.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity, building new processes, and improving workflows in an entrepreneurial environment.
Strong understanding of ecommerce, marketplaces, live commerce, creator-led retail, digital content, commerce influenced by user participation, or event-based commerce.
Ability to travel as needed for seller meetings, partner activations, live events, offsites, and strategic industry moments.
Bonus: Experience in collectibles, trading cards, fashion, luxury, sports, entertainment, creator economy, live shopping, or marketplace seller ecosystems.
Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$121,200 - C$161,800
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
