Job Description

  • You bring a proven track record of building strategic partnerships, driving channel growth, and developing high-performing teams that deliver meaningful commercial outcomes.
  • We provide the platform, support, and opportunity to help shape the future of one of Australia's fastest-growing fintech businesses.
  • Together we'll build stronger partnerships, create exceptional customer experiences, and accelerate PayNuts' next phase of growth.

More About PayNuts

Founded in 2020, PayNuts has rapidly emerged as one of Australia's fastest-growing payment facilitators, supporting thousands of businesses across Australia and New Zealand with innovative payment and commerce solutions.

Through a combination of market-leading technology, exceptional customer service and a partner-first approach, we've built a reputation for helping businesses simplify payments, improve operational efficiency and unlock new opportunities for growth.

Following our rebrand to PayNuts in 2023, we've entered an exciting phase of expansion. Backed by strong momentum and a clear strategic vision, we're investing in our people, technology, products and partnerships as we continue to scale nationally.

Over the past 12 months, the business has doubled in size, and we believe we're only just getting started. While payments remain at the core of what we do, PayNuts is evolving into a broader fintech and technology platform, with an expanding suite of solutions across payments, point-of-sale, telecommunications and embedded financial services.

About the opportunity:

This role represents a unique opportunity to join a high-growth business at a pivotal stage of its evolution. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll have the opportunity to influence the company's growth trajectory, shape strategic partnerships, contribute to product innovation, and help build one of Australia's leading fintech success stories.

Strong foundations have already been established, including a growing partner network, proven channel success, dedicated support functions and scalable systems. We're now looking for an experienced partnerships professional who can hit the ground running, accelerate growth and help take our channel to the next level.

As a Partnerships Manager, you'll be responsible for driving new partner acquisition, strengthening strategic relationships, and shaping the future direction of the partnerships channel. A key focus will be identifying and securing new ISV, ISO and strategic referral and group partnerships while maximising opportunities across our existing network. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, driving commercial outcomes and leading from the front.

You'll be successful in this role if you:

  • Confidently prospect, pitch and win new partners, and you're not afraid to make the case for why organisations should switch providers.
  • Identify, acquire and onboard new ISV, ISO and referral partners that expand PayNuts' reach and opportunities.
  • Grow revenue and maximise opportunities across existing partnership relationships.
  • Provide meaningful performance reporting, insights and recommendations to the CEO that support informed decision-making and growth.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the partnerships team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and work effectively with Product, Sales, Marketing and Operations.
  • Support commercial negotiations, strategic initiatives and enterprise opportunities that drive business outcomes.
  • A genuine growth mindset where you thrive on building something rather than just maintaining what already exists.

Expectations:

We don’t expect you to tick every box but we’re looking for someone with a strong foundation across several of the following skills:

  • Proven experience in partnerships, channel management, business development, or strategic alliances.
  • Strong experience within payments, fintech, SaaS, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated success building and growing partner-driven revenue channels.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate opportunities into results.
  • A hands-on leadership style with experience developing teams while remaining close to partners, customers, and growth opportunities.

Key focus areas in your first few months:

  • Getting up to speed - learning the PayNuts business, payments landscape, and existing partner relationships, while building key stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
  • Shaping the growth strategy - developing a partner growth strategy, identifying priority targets, and building an early pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Converting and demonstrating impact - converting new partner opportunities, deepening engagement with existing partners, and showing early growth in partner-generated volume.

What we offer:

  • Report directly to the CEO, helping shape the future of a high-growth Australian fintech with ambitious expansion plans.
  • Build on an existing partner network and support functions, with genuine ownership to shape where the channel goes next.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements that support work-life balance, wellbeing, and collaboration.
  • Competitive salary package with performance-based incentives.
  • Free internet and mobile plan.
  • An additional day of paid leave to celebrate your birthday, plus a gift voucher.
  • Free access to confidential counselling and 24/7 wellbeing support through our EAP.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
