Partnership Facilitator II

Myanmar Council of Churches' Holistic Child Development Project (HCDP)

The incumbent will be employed by and report to the Myanmar Council of Churches' Holistic Child Development Project (Yangon, Myanmar).

The Myanmar Council of Churches' Holistic Child Development Project (HCDP) is seeking a committed Christian professional to serve as a Partnership Facilitator The position is responsible for strengthening relationships with church partners, building church capacity, facilitating child and youth development initiatives, and supporting sustainable ministry impact within local communities.

The Church Partnership Facilitator will work closely with pastors, church leaders, project committees, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of church-owned programs that contribute to the holistic development of children and youth. The role will also support child protection efforts, partnership management, and continuous improvement of ministry effectiveness across assigned partner churches.

Key Responsibilities

Church Partnership and Capacity Development

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with partner churches.
  • Facilitate church ownership, leadership development, and organizational capacity strengthening.
  • Support church partners in identifying ministry priorities and developing strategies that address the needs of children and youth.
  • Encourage participation of children, youth, parents, caregivers, and community stakeholders in ministry planning and implementation.
  • Assist churches in identifying, mobilizing, and utilizing local resources to strengthen ministry sustainability.

Program Planning and Implementation

  • Facilitate needs assessments and community engagement processes to identify priority needs of children and youth.
  • Support church partners in developing annual ministry plans, budgets, and program activities.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support during program implementation.
  • Monitor progress against planned objectives and assist churches in identifying solutions to implementation challenges.
  • Facilitate learning, reflection, and evaluation processes to strengthen ministry effectiveness and improve future planning.

Partnership Management and Coordination

  • Coordinate support provided by Church Facing Team (CFT) members to partner churches.
  • Develop and implement church-specific Facilitation Workplans based on church capacity, priorities, and local context.
  • Review church reports, monitoring data, and partner feedback to identify support needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure timely documentation, reporting, and follow-up of partnership commitments and action plans.
  • Support the renewal and management of partnership agreements between HCDP and church partners.

Cluster and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support and oversee an assigned cluster of partner churches.
  • Facilitate collaboration, peer learning, and resource sharing among churches.
  • Strengthen relationships with pastors, church leaders, denominational representatives, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote partnerships and initiatives that enhance ministry impact and community engagement.

Child Protection

  • Promote and support the implementation of child protection policies, standards, and practices across all partner churches.
  • Build awareness and understanding of child safeguarding responsibilities among church leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ensure child protection concerns, allegations, or incidents are reported and addressed according to established procedures.
  • Support the creation of safe, healthy, and nurturing environments for children and youth.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Community Development, Social Work, Theology, Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant professional experience in community development, child-focused programming, church partnership management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with churches, faith-based organizations, NGOs, or community development initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating training, workshops, community meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Experience in program planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and relationship-management skills.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse church denominations and community stakeholders.

Language

  • Strong Burmese language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Working knowledge of English is an advantage.

Faith Requirement

  • Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian values.
  • Supports and promotes the mission, vision, and ministry values of the Myanmar Council of Churches' Holistic Child Development Project.

Working Environment

  • Based in Yangon with a home-office arrangement and regular travel to partner churches as required.
  • Combination of home-based work, virtual coordination, and field engagement.
  • Ability to work effectively within diverse cultural, denominational, and community settings.
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to varying local contexts to support partnership and program objectives.

Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel within Myanmar may be required, representing up to 50% of working time.
