The Partner will be expected to originate and sell significant consulting engagements, successfully and profitably deliver these engagements, and progressively build the team and capabilities required to establish a strong and sustainable Oil & Gas business in the region.
Key responsibilities
- Originate and develop major client relationships and consulting opportunities with national oil companies, international oil companies, and their operating companies, with particular focus on ADNOC and/or QatarEnergy.
- Build trusted relationships with C-suite executives and senior functional and operational leadership, developing a strong understanding of their strategic priorities, transformation agendas, and operational challenges.
- Originate and lead major engagements across priority topics including transformation, performance improvement and cost optimization, operating model redesign, operational excellence, and digital and AI-enabled transformation.
- Lead and oversee the successful and profitable delivery of major consulting engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes, measurable client impact, strong client satisfaction, and appropriate project economics.
- Bring deep Oil & Gas expertise across upstream, downstream/refining and petrochemicals, gas/LNG, and oilfield services, connecting industry knowledge with functional capabilities to address clients’ most important strategic and operational priorities.
- Advise corporate and operating-company leadership across functions including operations, finance, business development, R&D/technology, and other core corporate functions, bridging strategic priorities with operational execution.
- Develop the Oil & Gas business pipeline and take ownership of commercial performance, including opportunity identification, proposal development, pricing, project economics, realization, and profitability.
- Build and develop the Oil & Gas team and capabilities over time, recruiting and developing high-performing talent and shaping the capabilities required to support the growth of the regional business.
- Build strong collaboration with other Roland Berger practices and sector teams, leveraging capabilities in areas such as transformation, performance improvement, digital and AI, and operational excellence to develop differentiated client propositions.
- Liaise and collaborate with the global Oil & Gas and Energy practices, bringing relevant international expertise and intellectual capital to Middle East clients while creating opportunities for cross-border client development and collaboration.

- Significant experience working with national oil companies and/or international oil companies, at both corporate level and within major operating companies.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple functions, including operations, finance, business development, R&D/technology, and corporate functions, with the ability to engage credibly with both corporate and operational leadership.
- Strong track record in transformation, performance improvement and cost optimization, operating model redesign, operational excellence, and digital/AI-related programs.
- Demonstrated and sustained business development success, with a track record of personally originating, selling, and delivering more than USD 10 million of consulting work annually.
- An established network of repeat clients and senior relationships at C-suite and operational leadership level, particularly within relevant national and international oil companies.
