Job Description

The Americas Growth Portfolio team accelerates the growth of high-potential software, services, and AI partners by helping them build, sell, innovate, and scale on Microsoft Cloud.

As a Partner Development Manager (PDM) - Growth Portfolio Partner Lead, you will serve as the strategic business leader for a portfolio of Microsoft partners. You will be responsible for accelerating partner growth through executive engagement, joint business planning, co-sell, marketplace, AI transformation, customer acquisition, and scalable growth motions.

This role is designed for a leader who can operate at both a strategic and operational level. You will work across Microsoft sales, technical, engineering, marketing, partner, and executive teams to drive measurable business outcomes while helping partners align their business priorities with Microsoft's AI and cloud strategy.

Unlike a traditional account management role, this position functions as a growth orchestrator - bringing together people, data, AI-powered insights, and Microsoft resources to help partners achieve breakthrough growth and market impact.

Responsibilities

Strategic Partner Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive growth strategies for a portfolio of high-potential partners.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with partner leaders and decision makers.
  • Create and drive multi-year joint business plans aligned to Microsoft priorities.
  • Identify growth opportunities across AI, Data, Security, Infrastructure, Digital Applications, Industry solutions, and Marketplace.
  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with partner leadership teams.
  • Facilitate executive business reviews and strategic planning engagements.
  • Align partner priorities, investments, and roadmap decisions with Microsoft growth objectives.

Growth Portfolio Management

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic growth partners with a focus on measurable business outcomes.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities, risks, and growth potential.
  • Drive execution against portfolio plans and growth targets.
  • Lead portfolio prioritization and resource alignment discussions.
  • Monitor partner performance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Help shape portfolio strategy and growth motions based on changing market opportunities.

Marketplace & Co-Sell Acceleration

  • Accelerate partner success through Microsoft Marketplace and Azure Marketplace motions.
  • Drive marketplace readiness, transactability, and marketplace growth plans.
  • Increase co-sell engagement between Microsoft sellers and partner sellers.
  • Identify opportunities for private offers, MACC-aligned opportunities, and customer expansion.
  • Remove blockers and accelerate execution of strategic growth opportunities.
  • Drive adoption of Microsoft partner programs, incentives, and investments.

Executive Engagement & Community Building

  • Create and execute executive engagement plans that strengthen Microsoft-partner relationships.
  • Facilitate executive-to-executive connections between Microsoft and partner leadership teams.
  • Drive partner participation in strategic Microsoft events, executive programs, and growth initiatives.
  • Build scalable one-to-many community engagement models that increase partner collaboration and visibility.
  • Promote partner success stories and business outcomes across Microsoft leadership audiences.

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify net-new opportunities to grow Microsoft cloud consumption through partners.
  • Develop business cases that support new investments and growth initiatives.
  • Influence partner go-to-market strategies and market development plans.
  • Identify opportunities for solution expansion, customer acquisition, and industry growth.
  • Help partners build scalable cloud businesses that drive long-term growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate across Microsoft to unlock resources that accelerate partner success.

Growth Orchestration & Execution Excellence

  • Design and execute repeatable growth plays across the partner portfolio.
  • Leverage data, insights, and AI-generated recommendations to improve decision making.
  • Activate the appropriate Microsoft resources at the appropriate time to maximize partner impact.
  • Drive operational rigor through business reviews, growth plans, action tracking, and performance management.
  • Build repeatable frameworks that can scale across hundreds of partners.
  • Share best practices and successful motions across the broader organization.

Frontier Foundation AI Leadership

Driving Microsoft's AI Partner Transformation

  • A key responsibility of this role is helping Microsoft and its partners lead in the era of AI.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to champion Frontier Foundation AI initiatives and help partners build sustainable competitive advantage through artificial intelligence.

AI Strategy & Transformation

  • Help partners define AI strategies aligned to Microsoft's Cloud and AI vision.
  • Identify opportunities for partners to build AI-powered solutions and services.
  • Accelerate adoption of Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI applications, and emerging AI platform capabilities.
  • Guide partners through AI business transformation and growth opportunities.

AI-Powered Growth Leadership

  • Use AI-generated signals, insights, and recommendations to improve portfolio management and growth planning.
  • Apply AI to identify new opportunities, prioritize investments, and improve execution effectiveness.
  • Leverage data-driven decision making to drive partner outcomes at scale.

Human + Agent Operating Models

  • Champion the use of AI agents, Copilot capabilities, and approved automation tools across partner management workflows.
  • Help develop scalable human-plus-agent operating models that improve productivity and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities where AI can accelerate partner growth, execution, and decision making.
  • Build repeatable AI-enabled playbooks that can be adopted across the organization.

AI Innovation & Ecosystem Leadership

  • Connect partners with emerging Microsoft AI initiatives, programs, and investments.
  • Drive AI-focused executive conversations and strategic planning sessions.
  • Encourage experimentation, innovation, and responsible adoption of AI technologies.
  • Help partners understand how AI is reshaping business models, customer engagement, and market opportunities.

Responsible AI & Governance

  • Ensure all AI initiatives align with Microsoft's Responsible AI principles.
  • Promote secure, compliant, and ethical use of AI technologies.
  • Balance innovation with governance, accountability, and business value.
  • Drive measurable outcomes from AI investments and initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 8+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or an advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or a related field AND 10+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing strategic software, cloud, AI, or services partners.
  • Experience building executive relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Marketplace and co-sell experience.
  • AI, data, and digital transformation experience.
  • Experience leveraging analytics and business insights to drive growth decisions.
  • Ability to build scalable operating models, frameworks, and programs.
  • Executive communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Experience driving organizational change and innovation initiatives.
