
The Therapeutic Support Specialist (TSS) provides direct, trauma-informed support to children, adolescents, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental-health-related challenges. This role focuses on skill-building, stabilization, and helping youth succeed in home, school, and community settings. The TSS works closely with clinicians, caregivers, and community partners to ensure coordinated, compassionate care.
What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference...
• Provide one-on-one therapeutic support to youth in home, school, and community environments.
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by licensed clinicians.
• Teach and model coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, and positive behavior supports.
• Support youth during crises by using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of sessions, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with families, educators, caseworkers, and mental health providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing training.
• Promote a safe, supportive, and strengths-based environment for all youth.

Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field with 1-year experience with DMH youth -OR-
· Associated degree in Human Services or related field with 2 years of experience with DMH youth
· Must be at least 21 years of age
· Possess creativity and experience with activity-based services
· Valid MA driver’s license with acceptable driving record and current proof of insurance
Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program
