
About the Opportunity
This is a temporary 20-hours-per-week position supporting student-athletes throughout the academic year (September–May). This role is not eligible for benefits.
The Student-Athlete Support Counselor provides direct clinical care and support to Northeastern University student-athletes through University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) and Athletics. This on-site role includes one evening shift per week and involves brief psychological assessments, short-term psychotherapy, follow-up appointments, and triage support as needed. The counselor also makes referrals for ongoing community-based counseling, psychopharmacological evaluations, and emergency mental health services when appropriate
TheStudent-Athlete Support Counselor consults regularly with Northeastern’s full-time Student Athlete Support Clinician,members of the Athletics community, including athletic trainers and coaches, to support student-athlete wellbeing, and coordinates as needed with the UHCS mental health team.
