AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Shenango is accepting applications from students to serve as assistants to the Student Affairs office and/or Fitness Center attendants.

This position will serve as a paraprofessional of Student Affairs and can work interchangeably due to need between the Office of Student Affairs and the Fitness Center.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Answer phone calls

  • Coordinate messages for Student Affairs staff members

  • Organize meetings/events

  • Setup and breakdown of events and activities

  • Greeting visitors

  • Publicity/distribution of programs and flyers for cultural events and special programs

  • Routine tasks such as filing, copying, and mailing

  • In addition, the position will help oversee the general student lounge which includes the signing out of equipment, maintaining game tables, etc.

  • Provide a safe environment for participants

  • Develop knowledge of fitness components i.e.: personal training, group fitness, etc.

  • Knowledgeable on how to correctly use and adjust machines

  • Provide customer service to the patrons

  • Submit reports for broken or damaged equipment

  • Ensure patrons are swiping in at the door

  • Clean and maintain the fitness center

  • Perform other duties assigned by Student Affairs staff and supervisors

  • Be able to move up to 45 lbs; with or without accommodation

  • Be asked to assist in the Student Affairs Office

  • Be required to open and close the Game Room
