Iron Springs Elementary is seeking a Part Time Speech Paraprofessional to work 15 hours per week.
This position will remain open until filled.
The Part Time Speech Paraprofessional works under the direction of the Principal and Speech and Language Pathologist to support the identification of students with communication disabilities; planning and implementing appropriate treatment plans to minimize adverse impact on student success
- Conduct speech-language screenings (without interpretation) following specified screening protocols developed by the supervisor.
- Provide speech-language services to students, who, by the specific nature of the therapeutic services required, are not in need of full-time monitoring of performance by a certified SLP.
- Implement documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervisor.
- Document student performance and progress toward meeting established goals and objectives or benchmarks and reporting the information to the supervisor.
- Assisting with documentation, material preparation and other duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Scheduling activities, preparing charts/records/graphs, entering information into record keeping program, and performing checks and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the Speech therapist and classroom teachers.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress.
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists.
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required
- Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
- Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
