Santa Fe College is proud to offer wellness services and programs at the SF Fitness Center to all of our campus community, including students, faculty, and staff. The Fitness Center has an array of equipment and services suitable for everyone, ranging from the experienced athlete to those just exploring their fitness options. The SF Fitness Center is open 6:30am - 8:30pm, Monday - Friday.

The Yoga Instructor will work with the Fitness Center Manager to create, oversee, facilitate and conduct the yoga program for SF students and staff. The focus is on stretch and relaxation with the goal of reducing stress and increasing wellness. The instructor must have a positive and energetic attitude and be passionate about wellness.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

• Teaches safe, effective yoga techniques and positions to SF students and staff.
• Demonstrates all yoga exercises to participants to ensure compliance to safety standards and that participants are doing the exercises and poses with proper alignment.
• Monitors fitness levels and requirements of all participants and design classes to suit the needs of participants.
• Directs yoga classes according to the assigned schedule.
• Devises and implements engaging routines and movements.
• Provides ongoing observation and feedback to the SF participants regarding proper yoga techniques.
• Provides a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
• Provides alternative movements during class to accommodate different fitness and skill levels.
• Responds to participants suggestions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintains a neat and clean exercise room at all times.
• Participates in special campus events and activities as needed.
• Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Fitness Center Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: A certified Yoga Instructor with RYT 200 Hour Certification, CPR + AED, and two (2) years' experience leading group yoga classes.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.
