Job Description

This is service maintenance work in performing unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks in building maintenance. The work consist of upkeep and repairs in and around the building structure. Work requires operation of lawn equipment , use of plumbing tools, electric tools , and supervising inmate work crews. Contacts require courtesy , tact , and effectiveness in dealing with others to request or provide information, ask questions or obtain clarification. Work is performed following specific instructions and established routines. Work is also performed outdoors where there are some risks and hazards associated with machinery and vehicles on or near a roadway. Operates motor vehicles and machinery and tools such as mowers, blowers, edger’s , shovels . Physical demands consist of working in adverse weather conditions , heavy physical exertion, and lifting and moving objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

Examples of Work

  • Performs unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor task in building maintenance.
  • Loads and unloads materials from vehicles.
  • Operates mowers, edger’s, weed eaters, sprayers.
  • Operates motor vehicles to transport supplies , inmate work crews, and materials.
  • Performs related work as required.

Open Requirements

  • Must have at least two years of experience in building maintenance projects, or comparable work experience to be considered for the position.
  • Must be able to perform manual labor and read and write English.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
