About Enso Village

Enso Village is a Zen-inspired community with a focus on mindful aging, the joys of nature, sustainability and contemplative life and care for adults 60+. As America’s first and only Zen-inspired senior living community, Enso Village is a workplace like no other place you have ever worked. Here, our staff and residents engage fully and form close and meaningful relationships. We seek to uphold our professionalism and our humanity in equal measure. We listen with open minds and hearts. We learn something meaningful from every person and every experience. Sustaining others is what sustains us.

The Role

As a Server at Enso Village, you are an important part of creating a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable dining experience for our residents and guests. You will build meaningful connections through attentive, thoughtful service while ensuring each meal is served with care and professionalism. In this role, you will help uphold our standards for food and beverage service while contributing to a positive, community-focused atmosphere where residents feel valued and at home.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greeting & Seating: Welcome and seat residents and guests in the dining area when no host is available.
  • Guest Experience: Guide guests through their dining experience, maintaining full knowledge of the menu and preparation methods, and ensuring a seamless service from start to finish.
  • Service Protocols: Follow the Food & Beverage sequence of service as outlined by the Dining Room Manager and Executive Chef, ensuring proper procedures are consistently adhered to.
  • Table Maintenance: Set and reset tables before, during, and after service, ensuring that all silverware, glassware, share plates, and napkins are clean and polished.
  • Pre-bussing & Bussing: Clear and clean tables as needed during service, removing used dishes and glassware to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Food & Beverage Delivery: Assist in running food and beverages to tables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Opening & Closing Procedures: Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the dining area and performing side work throughout the shift.
  • Cleanliness & Safety: Address spills and broken glassware/dishes immediately, using floor signs when necessary to maintain safety.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean all equipment, tools, and supplies, and ensure that they are in good working order, following company policies and local health department guidelines.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Collaborate with management, fellow servers, and staff to address guest needs, resolve any issues, and ensure smooth service.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive, respectful, and enthusiastic attitude toward all team members and guests always.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as required by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous food service experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience working with a POS system is beneficial.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Certification: A Food Handler certification or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Schedule: Must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends (including Saturdays and Sundays), and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 90% of the workday.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching, especially in tight spaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and hold up to 50 pounds.

As a responsible organization, Enso Village is committed to maintaining a secure, drug-free work environment. All candidates must undergo a background check and drug testing as part of the hiring process to ensure the well-being of our team and guests.
